chill & cozy days 💌 small ways I continue learning, growing & living sustainably
Welcome back to my visual diary of my life in my 20s in Singapore, living simply and with as much joy and intentionality as possible! Just challenging myself to do a bit of a different video format, and to make content courageously without care for how people perceive me or my voice. Tbh I have never done vlogs because I always wonder whether anyone would care to watch a video with no singular "purpose" behind it, as my other videos have very clear questions they seek to answer, but who cares 😊 had a lot of fun making this one, and as always hope it inspires you / brings you peace somehow!

how to deal with heartbreak as the person who left | breakups in your 20s

A little video for those who've left past lovers who they thought were for forever. Breakups are not easy for all parties involved. "Dumpers" get a bad rep but it's actually really hard to be the person who goes on top of losing someone you love, you experience so many other emotions like guilt, doubt and internal conflict. I wanted to share some of my thoughts from having gone through this cyc...
settling slowly into adulthood 🍃 how I’m finding peace & adjusting to my 20s in Singapore

A little unplanned video I made of another ordinary and yet life-giving Saturday at @groundupinitiative ! Life has been slower this year and I'm certainly enjoying this season of my life, for rest, creativity and time for people a real 180 from the frenzy of last year (which was my first full year at my proper adult job a year of adjustment, mid-life crises and heartbreak of all sorts). Happy new year, dear internet friends! You may have been able to tell from the type of videos that I was posting in 2023 that I wasn't always feeling tip top. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!!! I was afraid that I clicked on another video about the typical "self-love high standards cutting people off" stuff, but it wasn't. Honestly at one point I really got influenced by all this self-improvement stuff about cutting friends off that aren't "good enough" to fit your standards or aren't self-improving or fitting gour expectations that I lost all of my best friends and I'm so devastated about the way I acted, just treating them all like trash in a very narcissistic way while they did everything for me. I lost 4 of my best friends of 6 years, who were actually the realest friends who actually understood me and we connected so much with each othwr. But I listened to social media that told me my friends weren't good enough. So, now I listen to myself. And I've grown a lot since then, I feel like I've become a completely different person, learnt a lot of lessons, but I've also lost a lot. I don't think I can really ever get over it. So, don't make my mistake, people. Don't be idealistic. Be realistic. and yes, walk away if necessary, but that is not often the answer. Everything is circumstancial so take social media advice with a grain of salt; it's often misleading. But this video really is talking about the stuff that is not talked about on social media. Especially that point about needing better friendships, not better friends, and that you shouldn't believe that your friends are "not good enough" to your standards. Anyway. The lesson I learnt is: Don't be spoiled. Don't be idealistic in your standards, there's no such thing as a "perfect friend". Seek perfection and you will end up with nothing. Appreciate what you have and be content in the present moment rather than idealizing a perfect future. Value what you have. See the good in people rather than focusing on their "flaws". Accept yourself and people the way you/they are. Accept life the way it is and don't force it. PEOPLE ARE NOT DISPOSABLE. RESPECT people. Don't be self-centered or have main character syndrome and think you're somehow special or better than everybody else; the only reason you'd do that is if you're very insecure. Basically, don't be delusional and think with magical thinking, life doesn't work that way and I learnt it the hard way as a very spoiled child. Don't immediately give up on friendships because they don't match your standards; cutting people off is the LAST option!!!!!!!!!!!! You will always end up with nothing if you're searching for perfection and nothing is ever good enough for you. I hope that someone can save their friendships by taking in my message, because currently what's going on on social emdia is influencing people to believe that loneliness is a good thing. Self-love my ass, it's just self-isolation that has made me an anxious, lonely wreck. Anyways, sorry for this paragraph, good video <3

What ever happened to going to the library , borrow a learning grammer book and learn, watch some youtube videos and get a conversation buddy and guess what- 2 years later one gets to a nice B2 level. Seems like my simple strategy is very effffective. No idea we need all different strategies and complicated scheduling, 10 different book, 100's of advice youtubers lecturing us. Keep it simple follow my lead and don't waste time with 90000 peoples complicated .....

Hey Victoria, this might be silly coming from a 17 y/o. I kinda had your video in watch in later for soo many months, i believe i had saved your video since the day you uploaded it. I was still lost in that time, but was too afarid to rediscover my self. Finally I had the courage to watch it, and it kinda gave me a direction. I kinda too want to film like you, i too want to go on a hike, i hope my family takes me to one this month as they have been talking. To be honest, your words gave me something that I am not the only one, not the only one lost. The society has madden us with the rat race, with fears that aren't even impactful. They impose their self made true sucess on us. But as you said, I need to keep moving, i need to flow with life, i can't stop a act like a rock in a flowing stream. I need to flow with life to enjoy it's beauty. Thanks, I kinda understood what i need to do right now to get myself together

¡Creo que has hecho un excelente trabajo! ¡Felicidades!

WARNING - This is a great video with some amazing tips BUT even with all the tips in the world, nothing is going to negate our humanity. Humans are tribal people and we need each other. Introverts need less connection than extroverts but we all need some connection. Beginning in childhood, I’ve always done things alone because there was never anyone to do them with and I love that about myself AND because I grew up so independent, I didn’t know how to ask for help or invite people to do things with me. Sometimes being alone IS the same thing as loneliness when you aren’t meeting your connection quota, which is going to vary for each person. So while no one should depend on other people 24-7-365, it’s ok if you’re extroverted and like activities better when you do them with others, as long as you’re not negatively affecting you’re life waiting for others to join you.

Your content brings a sense of peace in me. I relate with many of your thoughts and struggles eventhough our lives are very much different. For me, the biggest hurdle to improving my quality of life, is that I feel differently at different points of time. I feel that I face a certain problem today and think of a solution. But couple of days later I feel something else to be the problem and I abandon my efforts to overcome the previous one. My state of mind feels very transient and ever changing and that's why it's difficult to think of a way out. Keep sharing. Thank you.

Hey Victoria, always love the video updates. Wishing you continued peace and harmony in your life for the rest of 2024. I think it’s interesting how you mentioned that repeated ordinary actions can lead to extraordinary results. Recently I had a change in my life that’s resulted in me having some more free time, so I’ve put an emphasis on exercise, eating right, and taking my studies more seriously (2nd year college student). In the past, all of these habits were very daunting to me because it felt like if I tried to maintain them, it would end up not being enough. But I’m realizing that it only takes a little bit every day to be a better version of myself! Sorry for the long comment. Best wishes from Dallas, Texas.

I'm finding this way later in the future (since this video was posted). Honestly. the frustration kicks in for sure. I'm learning two languages at a time too and I believe I have perfectionist tendencies as well. Watching this makes it feel a little less lonely as I study by myself. I'm at the stage where I feel frustrated not being able to find the words to express myself with my tutors but seeing that feeling frustrated is the norm for learning anything is truly making me observe and reflect.

Yale is not a good school anymore. They inject political ideology into their students. They also commit horrific crimes against men. One man was wrongly accused of rape and won his case when prosecutors discovered Yale was destroying evidence that would prove his innocence. Research this.
